Thomas P. Ifversen has been practicing law in Oregon since passing the Oregon State Bar exam in 2000. Originally from Hawaii, Tom grew up on Oahu and attended Punahou School in Honolulu. He went on to earn a double BA in Journalism and Telecommunications at the University of Oregon. Then he enrolled at Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2000.

 

Tom has handled hundreds of cases as an attorney. He has vast experience practicing criminal law including misdemeanor, traffic and felony cases, where he has tried countless cases with great success both in front of judges and juries. Tom has handled numerous civil cases, both as a plaintiff’s attorney and a defense attorney. Tom also practices small business law with a focus on green companies, setting up and advising numerous entrepreneurs with an LLC, LLP or S-Corp. An expert in negotiating and drafting contracts, Tom works on partnerships, commercial leases, non-compete agreements, sale, licensing, and service agreements.

 

Tom is an active member of his community. He has been a mentor through the Big-Brother/Big Sister progam and to new law students at Lewis and Clark. Tom taught presentation skills to high school students for the summer Mini MBA program at the University of Portland. He is a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association as well as the Multnomah County Bar Association. Tom also participates in the Punahou School and the University of Oregon alumni associations. He enjoys spending time with his family and surfing in the cold waters off the Oregon coast.
